Situated on north campus, adjacent to the university golf course and to a large student-union facility, Hasbrouck is a diverse community made up of graduate students, families, visiting scholars, and post-doctoral fellows. The complex has a total of 338 studio, one-, and two-bedroom apartments situated in 28 two- and three-story masonry buildings. Hasbrouck is reasonably near public schools, shopping centers, and recreational facilities. There is frequent bus service.

The large two-bedroom apartments are two-story: the living room and kitchen are on their building's ground floor, and the bedrooms and bathroom are on the second floor. The regular two-bedroom units and the one-bedroom units are all on a single floor (the ground, second, or third) of their buildings. All studio apartments are in the three-story buildings, on the third floor, and have a combination living room and bedroom, a full kitchen, and a bathroom.

All studio apartments and most one- and two-bedroom units are furnished. (Note: If you are interested in an unfurnished unit, check the appropriate box on the application form.) In all units, the kitchen and bathroom have vinyl flooring; the other rooms are carpeted. Each apartment has an Ethernet network connection, window blinds and a refrigerator, a gas stove, a gas water heater, and a gas/hot-water heating system with a thermostat. You provide personal items such as bedding (sheets, blankets, pillows, etc.) and kitchenware.

The housing contract is for a twelve-month period, beginning August 1. Housing rates include all utility costs (gas, electricity, water, basic telephone (ResPhone) and Internet (ResNet). In addition to rent, residents pay for cable television if they want that service. Long-distance or international phone service is limited to carriers compatible with Cornell's phone system. On-site parking is available for an additional fee. You may reach the Cornell Transporation Office at http://www.parking.cornell.edu/tms3_gradoption.html
